Our Story - Beverly Jean Boutique

Hi there! I'm Jodi - the owner and heart behind Beverly Jean Boutique in Spencer, Iowa. What started as a dream to create a welcoming space where women can find clothing they feel confident and beautiful in has grown into something even more meaningful.

Beverly Jean Boutique was created from a love of style, family, and the women who shape us.

The name "Beverly Jean" belongs to my grandmother.

My grandma Bev was born and raised right here in Iowa - she was feminine in the most timeless way... soft florals, delicate pearls, dainty jewelry, beautifully styled hair. She carried herself with quiet grace. I never once saw her angry actually! She was endlessly patient, gentle, and steady in a way that made you feel safe just being near her. 

She loved to sew and crochet, and she taught me how to do both at a very young age. She believed in taking your time and doing things well - paying attention to every stitch, every fold, every detail. Nothing was rushed. Everything was done with care.

She also loved being in the kitchen. Her banana bread and lemon bars were unforgettable - made from memory, not recipes. Made with love, always.

In 2021, we lost her to dementia. As many of you may know from your own loved ones, this is a heartbreaking disease that slowly takes pieces of someone you love. She was taken from us far too soon.

When it came time to rename my boutique, I didn't choose something trendy.

I chose her.

Because Beverly Jean Boutique isn't just about women's clothing. It's about legacy. It's about honoring the woman who taught me that details matter... that patience matters... and that how you treat people matters most of all. 

At Beverly Jean Boutique, we are intentional.

We thoughtfully curate quality denim, feminine silhouettes, statement pieces, and everyday essentials.

We steam every garment.

We pay attention to the details.

We support other women-owned brands and small businesses. 

And above all - we build connection.

When you walk into our boutique in Spencer, Iowa, you are greeted with warmth. When you shop online, your order is hand-packed with care. You are not just an order or a transaction. You are a woman we are honored to serve!

This boutique is my way of keeping her spirit alive every day - in every floral print, every pearl detail, every carefully chosen piece.
